Garage with an Apartment???

I have an option on a small apartment attached to a large garage. This would be for a summer internship time frame. While it is awesome, my Focus ST really shouldn't need much work at all. Last summer when I had a GTO full of problems it would have been perfect.

I still feel this is would be too cool to pass up. I do have a mountain bike and roof rack. Could bring both sets of wheels as well. Trying to get a light bar set up, but not sure that requires a 1000 sq ft garage.

Anyone ever lived somewhere like this and want to share stories?

I'd love to have a place like that, so I can stare at my car for hours without having to leave the comfort of my living space.

Nice! I no longer live in an apartment, but I used to have assigned parking, but I wish that at the time, I had a external garage.

Pictured is not the one I could stay in. Separate spaces for garage and living. Just a cool picture.

Ya, I currently live in an apartment with a garage at school. But this is a real industrial style shop attached to the apartment.

Oh I know, but something like the picture is just awesome.

An apartment with a garage is a rarity, you should probably do it.

Sounds like what you need is...... A PROJECT CAR!!

Ya, I want to. It is a shop really, 1000 sq ft is not an exaggeration, so it's a lot bigger than a garage. It is the kind of place I want to live in the future, but unsure on if it will be worth it for a summer only with no project car.

Rent out space to a friend and offset the rent. Do it.

Man, that's all I need. No yard. All garage!

Apartment is not big enough to rent to a friend, and I will only live there for 3.5 months this summer so I can't get to far into renting out garage space.

Oh I want one, but I haven't finished college yet and moving around all the time isn't conducive to a project car.

Well I mean if there's nothing to use the garage for, it might be hard to justify, and you might regret it in the future.

Haha, I would be happy to have people over to work on their cars too. That would require me getting more tools, this could snowball out of control.

My dream house is 1 bedroom, 1 bath, kitchen, man cave, 4 car garage.

I meant rent out garage space, especially if someone else lives in an apartment without a garage, you just need the roof and space sometimes.

All I want is the ability to drive my car into a living space in my house, because... Because... I want to.

I wish this was more of a thing. I desperately want a place with a garage but in my area, it seems only 3 bedrooms houses have them or have an itty bitty single garage from the 50's. what always strikes me is how small 50's garages are in comparison to the cars of the era.

It is funny how tight garages were then. It seems the only garage/lofts built now are for rich guys at tracks, or rich people's 2/3/4th place and are only luxury options.

Not really a horse person, my allergies have never given them a chance anyway. I haven't had a chance to build up much of a tool collection yet.

Trying to hold off to graduation, I tried to go the route of a fun Daily (not cheap) semi project car and that was a disaster. Not due to my work, but hidden problems. So now I'm trying to just wait til I have a place year round and a bit more settled.

How can this not be fun? And worst case, it's only for a few months! Hell, sit in the garage, stare at your car, and enjoy a nice scotch and cigar. :-)

Reasons not to include high price(about $300 more per month than upper end of what I was planning), and lack of a full kitchen. Would have sink, fridge, and microwave. No oven. Could bring a toaster oven.

Okay, well that's different. Especially if its out of budget and if you're into the whole "feed yourself" thing. :-)

I could make it in budget without too much of a struggle if it is awesome. Gonna look into more details at least.
